Hornby (1972 : 789) has defined “Semantics is branch of linguistics concerned with studying the meaning of words and sentences.” Semantics is the philosophical and scientific study of meaning in natural and artificial languages. Involve the deconstruction, the meaning, and the interpretation of words, phrase, and sentence structures.

Part of speech is word in a language behave differently from each other. But not each word is entirely different from all other words in that language.       1. Nouns      Usually has a determiner (except proper names like “John, Anna, etc) and can be modified by an          adjective.            Examples: I met Bill, the tree, the milk, a cat, several sheep, and etc.       2. Verbs       - Verbs can combine with an auxiliary ( Aux + V ) Ex: will go, have seen, is swimming, and etc. -  Verbs can be modified by an adverb ( Adv + V / V + Adv ) Ex: usually sleep, read carefully 3. Adjectives             -  Adjectives can modify by a noun ( Det + Adj + N ) Ex: a tall man, a cool day, a wonderful trip -  Adjectives can be modified by an adverb ( Adv + Adj ) Ex: very smart, extremely clever, unusually hot 4...
